Himachal or the “land of snow” is synonymous with scenic beauty. The serene landscape mesmerizes each and everyone who visit this place. Being situated in western Himalayas, it is surrounded by majestic mountains, which still challenge mankind to conquer them. After being allured by the panorama of Himachal, one would want to come back again and again.

It is famously referred to as the Scotland of India and has snow clad mountains on three sides and valley on the other side. Every mountain renders an excellent view from every point. Tree gardens, Pine trees and Deodar tress along with the snow covered mountains add to the magic. Some of the attractions in Dharamshala are Bhagsu Waterfall. At an altitude of 2,050 meters in Kullu district, Manali offers countless adventure activities like paragliding, mountain biking, mountaineering, skiing, river rafting, etc. There are many trekking options like Bhrigu Lake Trek, Chandra Tal Trek, Malana Trek, Beas Kund Trek, etc. for amateur as well as experienced trekkers. Some other tourist attractions are Manali Sanctuary, Solang Valley, Great Himalayan National Park, Rohtang Pass, etc.


It is approximately 3 kilometers from Manali and is adorned with sandstone temples and hot sulphur springs. It is filled with travel hippies from all over the world. As the place offers some of the cheapest hotels, it is mostly crowded with international travelers. Vashisht is also known to be a Hindu Pilgrimage site with many ancient temples of Hindu deities like Ram, Vishnu, Lakshman, etc.


At an altitude of 1,650 meters, Kasol is situated in the Parvati Valley. It is a small hill station that offers picturesque environment. It serves as a base camp for treks like Pin Parvati Pass, Yanker Pass, Khiri Ganga and Sar Pass and known as attractive tourist places in Himachal Pradesh.


Chitkul boasts of a rich traditional atmosphere and is the last inhabited village near the Indo-Tibet Border on the old India-Tibet road. The wooden plank rooftop houses mostly have tribal settlements inhabitants. 500 years old Mathi Devi Templeis is built in wood and stone with intricate carvings. Other villages, near pass Chitkul, that can be visited are Wangtu , Karcham, Reckong-Peo , Puh, Nichar, etc. Jalori Trek passes through Chitkul and makes it a popular stopover for trekkers.

Nako Lake

It is situated in the Kinnaur district and is one of the less explored places in Himanchal. Neko Lake is a small lake and is surrounded by Willow and Poplar trees. Nako monastery and four Buddhist temples are the major attractions of this region.


Painted in colonial colors and situated at an elevation of 1,970 meters, is a very popular hill station. It has various heritage buildings that date back to early 19th century. It also has prominent churches like St. Patrick’s Church at Balun, St. John’s Church at Gandhi Chowk, St. Andrew’s Church, St. Francis’ Church at Subash Chowk, etc. Other attractions in Dalhousie are Chamunda Devi Temple, Rang Mahal, Shivkul ashram, Jhandri Ghat and Bhuri Singh Museum.
