The issue of gum swelling is pretty common and is caused due to factors such as infections, gum injury, allergies. However, the good thing is that swelling and the pain associated with it can be easily taken care of by home remedies.

1. Use Cloves to Reduce Gum Swelling

The goodness of cloves can be put to use in order to check the woes of gum swelling by mixing black pepper with clove oil and applying the same on to the affected region. This not only reduce gum swelling but also is seen to decrease the pain as well. Clove oil can also be used to reduce the swell or alternatively chewing on some cloves help reduce the concern.

2. Hot & Cold Water Compress

This helps in reducing the pain as well as the inflamed gums and the press needs to be done against the face at the affected region. Hot compress can be prepared by dipping a cloth in warm water whereas the cold compress can be prepared by placing a few ice cubes into a cloth and pressing it against the face.

3. Lemons

Boil lemon juice in a glass of water and gargle with the mix for at least two times a day to alleviate the symptoms. Rinse the mouth with the essence of rose flower mixed with lemon juice twice or thrice in a day helps to cure swollen gums too!

4. Aloe Vera

The anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties in the aloe vera herb can be put to great use in treating swollen gums or bleeding gum. Extract the fresh gel from an aloe vera leaf and rub the same onto the gum region and massage for a few minutes before rinsing it off with warm water.

5. Salt Water

This is maybe the easiest of the home remedies to treat as reduce swelling which talks about rinsing the mouth with warm water mixed with a tea spoon of salt in it.

6. Natural Oils

The natural oils such as tea tree, chamomile and peppermint oil if mixed together and used as a mouth rinse can effectively cure and treat the issue of gum swelling. The other way is to add a few drops of tea tree oil in the toothpaste and brush normally.

7. Ginger

Gum swelling can also be taken care of easily by using the goodness of ginger and salt. This can be used by preparing a mix of salt and ginger paste and rub the same onto the affected region which is known to reduce swelling and the pain too!
